Here Christopher West (in one of his seminars) presents the comparison of Pope John Paul II and Hugh Hefner. Let those who have the ears to hear, HEAR.

I've heard Christopher West speak and have listened to some of his talks. I've heard him admit the need to adjust his presentation as he's learned. That's extremely important, especially for someone who is on such a controversial topic as Catholic sexual morality.
I'm glad there are some out there correcting him when he is in error, and I'm glad to see he has taken correction when given.
That said, the Theology of the Body (and I've just skimmed the surface myself) has helped me make tremendous strides towards overcoming many of the problems I've had throughout my life with lust. Like Christopher West, I too weep for Hugh Hefner and others who simply look upon the body as an object for amusement. I pray for those presenting Christ's teaching on our sexuality, that they may be faithful to that call. I also pray for those on both the "puritan" and "playboy" ends of the spectrum, as they both separate the body from the spirit in their own way.

Christopher West has done a lot of good with his teaching on Theology of the Body, but I urge you not to discount the theological responses by such great minds as Alice Von Hildebrand. Chris has even admitted that he has struggled with the finer points of theological expression about his message. He made some major revisions in his Naked Without Shame program thanks to theological critiques by such theologians as are now criticizing him again. Claims that West underestimates concupiscence and sensationalizes the sphere of private intimacy may not be totally unfounded. Hopefully Chris will continue to have the humility to accept correction and to make changes, as any good teacher must.
