The following letter is from a 16 year old young lady whose heart burns for truth and freedom for all Americans including the unborn. Do you have the same passion for truth as she does?

There is a lot going on in our country right now. There always has been, and there always will be. But America has been especially blessed to have founding fathers who valued freedom above all, for all.

Now that freedom is being threatened. The freedom for Christians to speak about God in public is slowly being removed. Our society is seducing young people by painting immoral life styles and habits as glamorous and the only way to live. For generations this has been going on. Now it is more difficult than ever for parents to pass on the knowledge handed to them from their own parents about how to live a moral life.

Now with the election upon us, there are many issues bombarding the minds of Americans all at once. The economy is suffering, we have American troops in Iraq, and illegal immigrants are crossing the borders to name a few.

But there is an issue at hand that affects everyone with results that are hard to see. Abortion is the biggest issue, and as Catholics it is our duty to defend the unborn. Yes, there are other issues besides abortion that need attention, but nothing effects America more directly than abortion. How? Because abortion is just another name for extinguishing the life of a baby-a baby who will grow to be an adult American citizen, capable of affecting this country. Abortion in America is killing our American people while they are still in the womb, which ought to be the safest place for any human being. And now there are two candidates before us who share very different views on this issue.

This MUST be a priority in our minds when we cast our vote! And yes there is an obligation to vote. It is not enough to believe in the right thing, you must defend it. Our founding fathers did not just believe in freedom, they fought for it. All of the men and women who sweat, bled and died for America did not just believe in this country, they fought for it!

Look at the two candidates, and look at the facts about their lives. Listen to what they’re saying, yes, but keep in mind that anyone can say anything in order to bribe their voters. Promises can be lies. Look at the past lives of these two candidates and of their vice presidents, because their past actions will prove what their true beliefs are. Go straight to the unbiased facts, which are hard to get, but are what really prove a person’s words. It is our duty to defend the future generations of America.

Why would we be so sure that God would defend a country that kills off her own children for the sake of ‘convenience.’ The citizens of this country must plead with heaven for divine intervention themselves if they want any part in the luxuries of freedom; freedom of religion, the freedom to choose your own education, the freedom to work hard for goals and to be able to attain them in the end.

As Catholic Americans, it is our mission to vote pro-life. The continent itself is not America, the people are America. If you destroy the people, you will destroy America. Without the people, there will be no economy, no jobs, and no life.

Yes, abortion is the major issue, because it is an evil that is barbaric. Taking the life away from a child who is born is a crime; why does the fact that the child is unborn make it legal? Money in our pockets is not going to save this country; and there will always be strife between nations because of evil and corruption. Each and every one of us will die one day. How painful it will be to face the innocent human beings who we allowed to fall to the jaws of abortion because we were silent.

One does not have to perform a bad deed in order for evil to triumph, just being a silent spectator will suffice. God has given everyone the means to stand up for Him; there are no excuses for those who do nothing. If Catholics want their share of religious freedom, then we are going to have to band together and stand up for it, and speak out for those who do not yet have a voice.

We were defended, and still are defended, by the men and women who fought and still fight for America and her freedoms every day. We claim to be one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all, that must include our fellow countrymen who are threatened every day with abortion.
