
Acolyte, a Web Services Management company located north of Pittsburgh is looking for professional individuals to join our team. Our company has been in business since 1999 and we currently provide development, marketing and operational services for 4marks.com & CatholicMatch.com.
Acolyte provides a professional yet comfortable working enviroment. Although we provides services for the religious marketplace we are a for-profit business and not an apostolate. We do however feel there is a strong apostolic compoment to our work and feel in it iimportant to conduct business in an ethical manner and incorporating Christian principles.
Content Editor/Customer Service
Full-Time 40 hrs per week (Tuesday thru Saturday work week)
Qualified applicants should have strong editing and organizational
skills with the ability to identify quality content often submitted by
users to the website. Must have knowledge and enjoy working in the
Catholic marketplace and should have experience contacting authors,
speakers and other producers of Catholic content.
In
addition to editorial duties, applicant should be able to provide
assistance with customer service through our customer ticketing system
as well as occasional phone support. Must
have a friendly demeanor with a desire to help people and be
comfortable dealing with customers who may exhibit a wide range of
emotions.
Strong computer (i.e. word, excel, email, Internet Explore/FireFox etc.), writing (spelling, punctuation, grammar etc.), and editorial skills required. Experience with HTML as well as a strong familiarity of the Catholic Faith is required. Experience using Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe products is desirable but not required. (10.00-15.00 dollars per hour plus health benefits, vacation & 401K)
*This is an in-house position only. No telecommuting.
Web Developer / Programmer
(Based on 40 hour work week monday thru friday)
We are looking for a full-time web developer / programmer to help with the further development of 4marks.com and CatholicMatch.com. Must be comfortable working in a smaller office setting and have good people skills which would allow communication with other people in the office especially non-programmers. Must also be comfortable working on projects or materials related to the subject of Catholicism. (40-60K per year, plus health benefits, vacation & 401K)
Requirements include
* Strong programming skills in Perl, C/C++, Java, PHP, JavaScript or equivalent.
* 2+ years experience in software development
* Understanding of Object-Oriented concepts
* Unix / Linux / FreeBsd
* DBI
* SQL (ability to write simple and complex queries)
* Working knowledge of Apache or similar
* MySQL, Oracle or Postgres experience a plus
