Qui je suis?
My name is Jeff Merisier. The pronunciation changes according to where I’m at. In French-speaking countries, it’s Mé ri zié, in Italy (since the Italians put a vowel at the end of every name) it would be Don Me ri zié ri or Meɾisieɾi. I took the pen name Jeff le Bel. At my Confirmation, God willing, I’ll be taking the name “Mari,” which I’ll probably add to the name of the guy who performed as the midwife at my birth. So, very soon my full name will be: (get ready for this) Jeff Mari Elima Merisier. And it’s also likely for me to, under the patronage of the Curé of Ars, take the full name Jeff Jan Mari Merisier dit Jeff le Bel.
I’m Haitian by birth and Catholic by grace. (Notice how I borrowed from Raymond de Souza:) In Catholicism, I find the Fullness of the Truth. The more I learn about our Faith, the more my conviction in it deepens, and the less likely it is for it to be taken away. Because of my Catholic faith, I can say that “I have more insight than my elders, because I observe [God’s] precepts.” (Psalm 119:100).
And also because of my Catholic Faith, I can brag abut how I sit at the Feet of the Lord and I, myself have Uranus as my footstool—check it out the second edition of the Catechism, the page before p. 421 XD
Anyone who has lived with me or near me or even worked with me knows that I am multi-faceted (in fact, this is what I’ve been told—without all of this self-aggrandizing language:) even Oiy have a hard time figuring out myself, LOLz. Anyone who’s had this privilege (or misfortune, rather:) also knows that when I’m at home, I spend most of my waking hours watching TV. I watch mostly, well what else: Catholic television, and secular stuff only come in second and many people think it’s just a waste of time and if you think the same way, than I suggest that you check out these shows, then you’ll see the reason for my faith, hope and love. But enough about me for now...
my heart now swells with joy and pride knowing that I have a place where I’m surrounded by fellow Catholics and other men and women of good will who aren’t indifferent to Catholicism and, like myself, are interested in learning and sharing its beautiful truths:)
