New Song Community (Canção Nova ) was founded in 1978, born from Evangelli Nuntiandi, a Pope Paul VI’s appeal of evangelizing the baptized people, who aren’t evangelized.

Its founder is Monsignor Jonas Abib , a salesian priest, and its mission is to restore the dignity of the family and evangelize through the Gospel, participating in the Building of the New World, so that People can be transformed into New Men and New Women.

It reaches millions of people around the world through the Canção Nova Communication Network. Its system consists of TV and radio broadcasting stations , website and WebTV . It holds periodic evangelization events at its headquarters in Cachoeira Paulista (Sao Paulo State, Brazil) and throughout the country. The program operates in an integrated way with both Social Projects and the Audio Visual Department (DAVI).

It is a nonprofit and philanthropic organization recognized by the federal government of Brazil. Its Communication Network does not have advertisement and is sponsored exclusively by spontaneous donations given by its benefactors.
