Just learned from Jim Sedlak that the Pence Amendment, stripping Title X funding from Planned Parenthood, PASSED the House Appropriations Committee and will be voted on the House Floor on July 24! (tomorrow, as I write this). Calls are needed to your Representatives to keep the Pence Amendment in the Labor-HHS Appropriations Bill! Please call and get your friends to do so, too!

I just got an action alert from the American Family organization. It urges us to oppose House 1913 which as they put it,
"America's most basic freedoms of speech, conscience and the free exercise of religion are under attack and the time to act is now. If President Obama succeeds with his priority of passing the Hate Crimes law, H.R. 1913 - the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, it could lead to the criminalization of the Biblical view of homosexuality in sermons and elsewhere. An offended homosexual could accuse a pastor, Sunday School teacher of broadcaster of causing emotional injury simply by expressing the Biblical view that homosexuality is sinful.
I put a link to their site on www.midwestconservatives.com on the home page under pro active groups on the left side. Click on the link and it will bring you to a site where you can plug in your zip code and automatically send your Senator and Congressman an email opposing this legislation. I signed it and it took all of 10 seconds.

Not as involved as I should be in pro-life matters. What about some local people. Like the director of a crisis pregnancy center, local priests working for the cause in their parishes? Any others who is well-known to the community at large and would benefit being at the lunch? Maybe these ideas lead to other possibilities.

I am meeting with a Pro-Life coordinator next week to plan our "Champions of Life" award lunch and I need to have some ideas for a guest speaker who would not be too expensive to bring to St. Paul, MN. Any suggestions???

Write to NBC: On April 29th Jay Leno and his wife are hosting a fundraiser for the Feminist Majority Foundation, a radical pro-abortion group that not only advocates for abortion on demand, but also for the closing of pro-life pregnancy centers.
Please let NBC know that is unacceptable and that you will not watch any show that stars Jay Leno until he apologizes to the hundreds of thousands of people who have been helped by pregnancy care centers and the hundreds of thousands of people who staff those centers.
Please contact Jeff Zucker, NBC Chief Executive, and ask him why his star, Jay Leno, is raising money for an organization that attacks pregnancy care centers.
